HOST Yes. Cryptids have come to Pittsburgh. Or perhaps they’ve been here all along, and now, we at the museum are ready to see them.
PROF. CHILDREN We’re turning a corner on Cryptids here. When faced with the new and unfamiliar, it’s our aim to engage with extended arms and smiles on our faces.
Of course, there will be misunderstandings. At times we will fall short. But as long as everyone is proactive about learning, is curious, is welcoming and willing to listen, we can all grow. We want these glorious Cryptids here in our home. We want… we want our home to be their home too.
(Sound of cryptid roar)
MR SOUNDMAN Dr. Professor Children… Behind you!
PROF. CHILDREN Oh my.
MR SOUNDMAN I’ve… I’ve never seen anything like it!. It’s enormous. It’s it’s-
PROF. CHILDREN - beautiful. Just a lovely lovely individual. Hello There. I’m museum bigwig Dr. Professor Children.

MR SOUNDMAN (fearful) whaaaaaoooh..
PROF. CHILDREN No, no. Don’t run.
MR SOUNDMAN But I’m afraid.
PROF. CHILDREN It’s okay to be afraid of something different. We’re all wary of things we’ve not yet been exposed to. But, but that’s no reason to... to deny it, to exclude it... to run from it. Quite the opposite. Let’s just… just, well, listen.
MR SOUNDMAN Okay. Yeah. Listening. I… I can do that. (with pride) I’m the soundman.
PROF CHILDREN Darn tootin’ you are. Now please, please, new friend, what is it you have to say. We’re listening.
(Cryptid roar)
PROF. CHILDREN Oh… Oh? Oh?
(Cryptid roars)
PROF. CHILDREN Is that so?
MR SOUNDMAN Wha… what’s it… what’re they saying?
PROF. CHILDREN Well Mr. soundman. Let’s just say, you’re about to record the interview of a lifetime. We’re gonna need a bigger microphone.
(Sound of cryptid garbling as music fades up. )
HOST This world is filled with unknowns. But when you open yourself up to understanding all the unfamiliar people, places, and things, the fear of the unknown, can very quickly become wonder. May your world be filled with such wonderful unknowns to wonder about.
Thank you for joining us, and so concludes the Cryptid Critter Crawl.
(Cryptid roar)
